Ficus Amstel King is an impressive houseplant from the Moraceae family, originally from the tropical regions of South-East Asia, in particular India, Nepal and Indonesia. Thanks to its attractive glossy leaves and adaptable nature, this plant has grown in popularity as a hydroculture plant.
Hydroculture care tips:
Location:
Choose a bright position with indirect light for your hydroculture Ficus Amstel King. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can scorch the leaves.
Watering:
Avoid overwatering, as standing water can damage the roots. Only water once the top layer of the substrate is dry. Make sure the reservoir in the hydroculture system is not empty.
Humidity:
Ficus Amstel King prefers increased humidity. Mist the leaves regularly or provide humidification in its surroundings.
Temperature:
This plant does best at room temperature but also tolerates slightly cooler temperatures. Avoid draughts and sudden changes in temperature.
Feeding:
Use a special hydroculture fertiliser to provide the right nutrients. Follow the instructions on the packaging and feed Ficus Amstel King roughly every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
Repotting:
Ficus Amstel King should be repotted every few years to make room for root growth. Take care to remove the old substrate gently and not to damage the roots.
