Product information "Hydro - Ficus Benjamina Danielle"

Ficus benjamina 'Danielle', also known as the weeping fig, is a variety of the popular Ficus benjamina. Ficus benjamina originally comes from Southeast Asia and Australia. The 'Danielle' variety is distinguished by its charming, dark green leaves with a slightly wavy texture. Growing Ficus benjamina 'Danielle' in hydroculture can be an effective way of preserving its health and beauty.

Hydroculture care tips:

Light:
Place the plant in a bright spot, but out of direct sunlight, to avoid leaf scorch.

Watering:
As hydroculture is a water-based system, careful control of watering is crucial. Always keep the water reservoir in the hydroculture container filled, but avoid waterlogging. Ficus benjamina 'Danielle' does not like excessively wet roots.

Humidity:
This plant prefers higher humidity. Mist the leaves regularly with water to increase the humidity around the plant. This is particularly important in heated rooms.

Feeding:
As the plant grows in a water-based medium, it needs regular feeding. Use a water-soluble fertiliser and follow the instructions on the packaging to avoid overfertilising.

Temperature:
Keep Ficus benjamina 'Danielle' in an area with steady temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid draughts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

Repotting:
Repot the plant into fresh hydroculture substrate every few years. This helps maintain the nutrient supply and promotes healthy roots.

Pruning:
Regularly cut back dead or overgrown branches and leaves to encourage growth and shape the plant.

Diseases and pests:
Monitor the plant for signs of disease or pests. Hydroculture can encourage the growth of some pests. Treat problems early to prevent damage.
