Ficus moclame is a variety within the Ficus genus. Historically, Ficus species have long been valued for their aesthetics and adaptability. Ficus moclame is no exception and is very popular thanks to its exotic appearance.
Care tips for Ficus moclame in hydroculture:
Watering: Ficus moclame in hydroculture needs regular watering. Check the water level in the reservoir of the hydroculture system regularly. Never let the water reservoir dry out completely, as Ficus moclame needs water to absorb nutrients through its roots.
Light: Place your Ficus moclame in a spot with indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the plant's leaves. Hydroculture can protect the plant from root rot, but it still needs sufficient light for healthy growth.
Feeding: As hydroculture systems supply the plants with nutrients, Ficus moclame needs less fertiliser. Use a fertiliser specially suited to hydroculture and follow the instructions on the packaging. Over-fertilising should be avoided, as it can harm the plant.
Temperature and humidity: Ficus moclame thrives at normal room temperatures between 18-24°C. Humidity should be moderate, which is the case in most indoor spaces. Avoid draughts, as they can stress the plant.
Repotting: One advantage of hydroculture is that repotting is needed less often. Nevertheless, when the roots of Ficus moclame outgrow the substrate, it is time to repot. Take care to handle the roots gently so as not to damage them.
