History of the Chamaedorea Metallica in hydroculture
The Chamaedorea Metallica, also called the metallic palm, is a rare and elegant houseplant with dark green leaves that have a metallic sheen. It is very easy to care for and undemanding. It originally comes from the tropical rainforests of Mexico. It grows particularly well in hydroculture, as its roots appreciate constant moisture and waterlogging is avoided.
Care in hydroculture:
-
Light: Bright to partially shaded spot, no direct sun.
-
Temperature: Ideally 18–26 °C; do not keep below 15 °C.
-
Humidity: Medium to high; mist occasionally.
-
Nutrient solution: Check the water level regularly and add hydroculture fertiliser to the water.
-
Special features: This houseplant is particularly easy to care for and ideal for hydroculture, as it copes well with constantly moist roots.
Overwintering tips:
In winter, reduce the nutrient supply and do not keep below 15 °C. The Chamaedorea Metallica is a stylish, easy-care choice for hydroculture and brings tropical flair to the room with its unique leaf sheen.
