History of the Monstera deliciosa in hydroculture
The Monstera deliciosa, also known as the Swiss cheese plant, comes from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, where it grows as a climbing plant up trees. In hydroculture, this popular houseplant develops a strong root system in water and adapts well when conditions are right. Hydroculture makes care easier, as it provides an even water supply and reduces root rot.Care as a houseplant in hydroculture:
Temperature: 18–27 °C is ideal, not below 12 °C.
Humidity: Medium to high, mist occasionally.
Substrate: Expanded clay or another hydroculture substrate.
Watering: Use the water level indicator; top up regularly with fresh water.
Feeding: Special hydroculture fertiliser every 4–6 weeks.
Special features: This houseplant forms aerial roots, which can be guided into the water.
Overwintering tips:
Feed less and make sure the water does not get too cold. A bright location helps to support growth even in the winter months. Monstera deliciosa in hydroculture is an elegant and easy-care solution for plant lovers.Login
