Philodendron Xanadu is an attractive houseplant with a distinctive growth habit and glossy, deeply lobed leaves. It comes from the tropical regions of South America and is a popular choice for indoor spaces, as it creates a calming, green atmosphere.
Care tips for Philodendron Xanadu in hydroculture:
Light: Philodendron Xanadu prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can scorch the leaves. Partial shade is well tolerated, but too little light leads to slower growth and less pronounced leaf colouring.
Water: In hydroculture, it is important to keep the water level in the hydroculture pot constant. The water level indicator should always be between "Minimum" and "Optimum". Make sure that water does not build up, as this can cause root rot. Topping up the water regularly is necessary, but excessive waterlogging should be avoided.
Temperature and humidity: Philodendron Xanadu thrives at temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius. It prefers high humidity, which is often reduced by heating, especially in the winter months. It helps to mist the plant with water occasionally or to place a humidifier nearby.
Feeding: During the growing season in spring and summer, Philodendron Xanadu should be fed every four to six weeks with a special hydroculture fertiliser. Use half the recommended concentration to avoid over-fertilising. In winter, feeding can be reduced or stopped altogether.
Leaf care: The leaves should be dusted regularly to support photosynthesis. If necessary, they can also be wiped with a damp cloth to remove dirt or deposits. Yellowed or dead leaves should be cut off to encourage new leaf growth and keep the plant healthy.
