The Sansevieria zeylanica, also called snake plant, impresses with its upright, sword-shaped leaves in deep green, streaked with lighter, wavy bands. In hydroculture it is particularly easy to care for and almost indestructible – ideal for living spaces, offices or entrance areas with a modern, clean style.
Care in hydroculture:
Light:
Bright to partially shaded spot; also tolerates less light. Direct sun only for short periods.
Temperature:
Ideally 18–28 °C. It should not stand below 15 °C for long periods.
Humidity:
Very adaptable; prefers dry to normal indoor air. No additional misting needed.
Water & nutrients:
Water only moderately – the water level in the hydroculture pot should be rather on the low side. Be sure to avoid waterlogging. Add hydroculture fertiliser every 4–6 weeks.
