Euphorbia (spurge) is an unusually diverse genus in the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae). The approx. 2000 known species are found almost worldwide, and they are also easy to care for as houseplants. In humans, the sap causes rashes, especially on sensitive skin. In some Euphorbia species, the milky sap is highly toxic and caustic. You should therefore never place Euphorbias within reach of small children or pets.
