History of the bird's nest fern Asplenium Crissie

The bird's nest fern Asplenium Crissie is a special and decorative fern variety that delights with its exceptionally split and frilled leaf tips. The glossy, fresh green leaves grow in a rosette from the centre of the plant and give it a lively and elegant appearance. Compared with the classic bird's nest fern, the Crissie variety has a striking, slightly fringed leaf shape that makes it a special eye-catcher. Asplenium species originally come from the tropical rainforests of Asia, Australia and Polynesia, where they grow in humid and shady regions.

Care as a houseplant:

• Light: Bright to partially shaded position with plenty of indirect light; avoid direct sun.

• Temperature: 18–26 °C is ideal; temperatures below 15 °C should be avoided.

• Humidity: High; increased humidity promotes healthy growth and beautiful leaf development.

• Substrate: Loose, humus-rich and free-draining fern substrate or foliage plant soil.

• Watering: Keep evenly slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Use low-lime water if possible.
