Worm castings – natural fertiliser and soil improver
Worm castings are a valuable natural fertiliser and soil improver produced by the natural work of compost worms. In the process, organic materials are transformed into a nutrient-rich humus that supplies plants with valuable minerals and nutrients .
The pH-neutral to slightly acidic worm castings support a healthy soil structure and improve the soil's ability to absorb and store water and nutrients. The nutrients they contain are released gradually and are therefore available to the plants over the long term.
Worm castings are versatile and suitable for potted plants, sowings, seedlings, perennials and shrubs. For classic use, simply work them lightly into the potting soil or mix them into the existing soil when repotting. Worm castings can also be used to make a natural liquid fertiliser.
