Description of the house mix
Our professional potting mix is a versatile, peat-free substrate for ornamental horticulture. Ideal for plants with medium to high salt tolerance, such as houseplants, palms, succulents and herbs.
Advantages:
- 100 % peat-free with fast-renewable raw materials
- High air capacity
- Pot surface dries quickly
Composition:
- 45 % CocoSol®
- 35 % substrate fibre
- 10 % perlite
- 10 % substrate compost
- 75 l clay/m³
- 850 g NP fertiliser/m³ + trace elements
Chemical values (according to LUFA):
- pH value (CaCl2): 5.9
- Salt content: 1.2 g/l
Important notes:
- Peat-free substrates have higher pH values; reduce fertilising if your water is hard.
- High potassium content means little or no additional fertilising is needed.
- Lower water capacity; the surface dries quickly, so adjust watering intervals accordingly.
- Higher biological activity; saprophytic fungi help the plants absorb water and nutrients.
