Product information "Hanging Pot - String of Hearts Ceropegia Variegata"

History of the Ceropegia woodii Variegata

Ceropegia woodii Variegata, also known as variegated string of hearts, is a popular trailing plant with delicate, heart-shaped leaves. Its silvery-green leaves with creamy white to pink variegation make it a particularly decorative eye-catcher. Ceropegia woodii originally comes from South Africa, where it grows in warm, dry regions. Thanks to its long, trailing shoots, it is ideal for hanging baskets, shelves or decorative planters.

Care as a houseplant:

• Light: A bright spot with plenty of indirect light; some direct morning or evening sun is well tolerated.

• Temperature: 18–26 °C is optimal; avoid temperatures below 12–15 °C.

• Humidity: Low to medium; normal room air is ideal.

• Substrate: Free-draining substrate, e.g. cactus soil or a mix of potting soil and perlite.

• Watering: Water sparingly; let the substrate dry out well between waterings. Avoid waterlogging.

• Feeding: Every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a weakly dosed liquid fertiliser.

• Special features: The long, fine shoots with heart-shaped leaves make this plant ideal for hanging containers.

Overwintering tips:

Water considerably less in winter and continue to keep it in a bright spot. Temperatures should ideally not drop below 12 °C. Ceropegia woodii Variegata is an easy-care, decorative houseplant whose delicate shoots and heart-shaped, variegated leaves add a romantic touch to any living space.
