The Ficus Amstel King is a popular houseplant belonging to the mulberry family (Moraceae). This variety is a cultivar of Ficus elastica and originally comes from the tropical regions of Asia. Ficus Amstel King is characterised by its large, glossy leaves, which are a deep green and spread out elegantly. This plant is known for its robustness and adaptability, which makes it an excellent choice for living spaces and offices.

Care as a houseplant:

  • Light: Bright spot with plenty of indirect light; direct midday sun should be avoided.
  • Temperature: Ideally 18–25 °C; do not keep below 10 °C.
  • Humidity: Moderate; occasional misting of the leaves is beneficial.
  • Substrate: Free-draining potting soil with a high humus content.
  • Watering: Water moderately; the top layer of soil should dry out between waterings; avoid waterlogging.
  • Feeding: Every 4–6 weeks with a liquid fertiliser during the growing season.
